Jarabe Tapatio is Mexico's national dance, also called a Mexican hat dance in English. Jarabe Tapatio denotes the Mexican identity. It also celebrates a sense of unity throughout the country of Mexico. Jarabe Tapatio is also a dance of Mexican culture and tradition. 

Jarabe Tapatio is also a dance of romantic courtship. This dance will be performed by men and women where the man invites his partner for intimate affection world. This dance is the folk dance of Mexico. The couple will dance together and show their passionate love for each other.

Jarabe Tapatio originated in the 18th century. The attire of this dance is colorful and beautiful. The women will wear Mexican traditional attire known as 'Charro' while the man will wear a suit with a hat.

Some Mexicans state that through this Jarabe Tapatio people can find their soulmate and will be performed together. Here goes the story of a man and a girl. A boy was wooing a girl and make an advance of the girl but she rejects him. The young man continues to woo her and eventually she accepts his advance to avoid any church punishments.

In the 18th century, the couple becomes too dance Jarabe Tapatio publically but they were banned and control over their terriorities. It was the day where Jarabe Tapatio become popular when the people of Mexico protest against the authorities. Until today Jarabe Tapatio popular among schools and the whole world.
