LION DANCE FESTIVAL

Lion dance is traditional dance in Chinese culture. This was an art of Chinese dance. This dance usually will be perform during Chinese New Year or Chinese event festivals.Lion dance have bring out to other country and have many type of country which is Chinese Northern Lion,Chinese Southern Lion,Green Lion,Vietnamese Lion,Japanese Lion, Korean Lion and  Tibetan Lion. In Malaysia, Chinese people will use the traditional Chinese Lion Dance.

                                      TRADITIONAL LION DANCE            

The history of Lion dance is start from Han Dynasty (206-220) when lion have been brought to Northern China for the emperor and make it as traditional dances. When Tang dynasty(618-9070 lion dance had become a cultural entertainment and always have been perform at imperial court. Lion dance continued spread across Northern China and other country until today. Lion dance and the dance have bring together in the worlds.

In traditional Chinese culture, the lion like In Chinese culture, the lion have symbolizes which mean power, wisdom and Superiority. Chinese people believe that in Chinese new year if the lion dance perform in their house or shop, this can bring prosperity and good luck for their business and life. The Chinese lion dance will be performed by two dancer. One will at on head and the other will hold the long sinuous body of the lion dance. Chinese Lion dance will be performed by drum beat by the Lion dance team. That was two styles of lion dance in China: The southern lion dance is based on the lion behavior, this dance have been perform in Malaysia  and The Northern lion dance has close relations to kungfu which have Chinese martial art.

As a Malaysian we should join the lion dance festival and know more about the interesting of lion dance! Don't forget about Chinese culture because Malaysian was an 1 Malaysia that have different races in Malaysia!
